Face values to the $5. Complete Defin sets 16 in rare 1970 Birds, (Retail $30 alone) other 1973 Architecture Defins set 16 complete (also retail $30 on 4 x FDC) and very good commems - these earlier sets often have VERY high retail. Way too busy here to look and price them all up in catalogue but total retail will be very substantial, and will be many $100s. Usual slight mixed condition from Estate due to age, many superb, and a STEAL for someone. Even VFU sets of some of the commems retail several $'s per set, and most covers are $4 - $15 plus. A great source of superb used. These will become far more sought after now, as Norfolk Island from July 1, 2016 a became 100% "Australian" for the first time for postal and legal purposes. Price $159

CJL3) GB FDC collection 1958 to Late - 1990s. Estate lot unpicked, exactly as received here. Face values to the 1977 Hi-Val Machin trio to £5. Other Defins, Machin sets, scarce Regional Machin full sets, and very good commems - the earlier sets of which have VERY high value in SG Cat. Way too busy here to price them all up by SG cat, but a random check of one of the older ones the 1958 Commonwealth Games is cat £80 alone in SG, so total cat will be many £100s. Usual slight mixed condition from Estate due to age, many superb, and an STEAL for someone. About 120 covers here so around $1.50 each. Even VFU sets of the 1980s commems retail several $'s per set - a great source of superb used. Price $179

CJL4) NZ 1946-1995 FDC hoard of 260, Retail $100s for under $1 each! values to the scarce 1982 $5 Beehive. Also Healths, and Defins, and very good commems - the early sets of which have VERY high cat in NZ cats. Way too busy here to price them all up by ACS cat, but it will of course be VERY many $100s, so will include a free colour catalogue so that you can see for yourself. Looked up the 1944 10d KGVI Surcharge, and that ALONE is ASC cat $75 on FDC. Usual slight mixed condition from Estate, many superb, and a STEAL for someone at just $A249

CJL5) Burma, KGV to 1940’s on SG Album Leaves. Mostly fresh once lightly mounted mint, and a superb collection for this popular and seldom offered area - most spaces already filled. Many key singles and scarce full sets to 10 Rupees x 3! These are usually are sold separately. SG cat is £447, and noted in pencil on page for easy checking. Some Japanese Occupation issues too. Collection formed in the UK decades ago. Bound to be the odd blemish here and there, but mostly are very fine, and many are superb but priced to clear at a fraction of SG. $395

CJL6) GB Collection of 100 plus PO Packs 1979-1992 in Albums Retail $900 plus for $449. Lovely looking lot, formed in the UK, in 2 x large special Deluxe Royal Mail PO Packs albums. Those are not often seen out here. 109 packs, plus the 1983 Year folder. SG cat noted on each for your easy checking, and that tallies to £558, Plus the 2 x clean $75 special albums. Totally untouched by us, as received .. all the goodies are here! Some gorgeous sets. And a few free entry tickets to UK Stamp Shows tossed in gratis, as stamp related souvenirs! The FACE alone is very high with 4 sets of Definitive Castles to £5!  included all at only about $4 a pack! Price $449

CJL7) BELGIUM POSTAL HISTORY: 1860-1960s bundle of covers & postcards ncluding 1868 Brussels-Paris with 30c brown (cover faults), 1871 commercial to Holland with 20c blue, 1879 & 1884 with 25c bistre, 1910 Brussels Exhibition postcard with tabbed 10c & Exhibition label, 1914 postcard to Scotland with tabbed 10c, 1948 bank cover to Australia with 3fr15c Textiles, 1940s attractively franked airmail covers to Australia (4); several others registered. (32 items) A fine lot at under $20 each, price $595

CJL8) World Wildlife Fund. 10 VOLUMES All in superb as new condition and well laid out in official WWF black padded binders and matching slipcases. I noted a complete album devoted to each of the following countries —Australia, Norfolk Island, AAT, Christmas Island, Cocos Island, New Zealand & Tokelau more than $100 mint face value from just these areas. Then 3 x mixed Europe and British Commonwealth volumes. There are extra mint and fine used stamps in the front of most albums, gutters and all sorts of extras. It would have cost more than $1,200 to put this collection together bargain lot for just $749

CJL9) PNG MUH Coll 1986 to end 2000. A virtually complete collection (missing only 1984 overprints set 11, that we often have in stock anyway when you need them) fresh MUH in a red Seven Seas hingeless album. Defins right up to 5K and 10K top value etc. Pages and binders for that alone are $260 new, and the fresh MUH stamps are retail $982, all neatly marked on pages in erasable 4B soft pencil, for easy checking. So we have a retail here of well over $1,200 for the stamps and album - and an Estate special super buy for over a THIRD off retail! For THE most popular country from this region. HEAPS of PNG collections ceased mid. 1980s as the Australian P.O. here stopped selling New Issues then at the Philatelic Bureau, so a TON of collections out here stop abruptly then, just as this commences, so a perfect fit for someone to take their PNG colleciton15 years forward right up to the end of 2000. Price $795

APO2020) Spectacular ERROR. The 2020 APO Stamp Yearbooks all have a very spectacular printing error inside - the entire word AUSTRALIA was MISSING, as well as year of issue on one $1.10 stamp. A huge error in this modern era of computer-controlled error checking. NORMALLY the APO would simply swap them over for the corrected version, before placing them on sale - but this year, for the first time ever, all the 2020 annual books did not have stamps as usual in a cello. bag or Hagner, that you then had to placed inside yourself. There are now for each set, a complete a page of gummed paper, with design all around them, and perforated within that sheet. Each page is like a huge A4 size mini sheetlet essentially! So to correct this. The APO, would need to destroy all of the books! and print up new ones, WEEKS of work!  As the error was not noticed until almost the on sale date, it was too late for all that, as books are bought heavily each year as annual gifts, and in recent years, sell out very fast. They are never re-printed. The CORRECT stamp wording was on course on stamps in all the PO packs, on FDC, and in usual mint form etc. This error block is on front cover of best-selling Magazine “Stamp News” Such a “Country Name Missing” printing error will get into catalogues globally (such things in the past are many $100s, or even $1000s each) as many with this error were sold before Year Books ran out of stock. Where the price will finally settle on these albums, we have absolutely no idea - they are advertised at $450 already elsewhere, but when our stock is gone it is gone forever! MASSES of books will be broken up just to secure this error stamp block, the ONLY way to source it, and the rest used up for postage etc. making complete books scarcer than ever. Only 6,500 hand numbered copies were ever printed of the Executive Album. Every 2020 book, we sell has included extra, the CORRECT MUH version of this stamp added in for free. The complete 2020 Year Album, with $123 face of MUH stamps, including this error block 4, and all kinds of new formats of stamps inside, is just $375. We were only allowed to buy a few before stocks were virtually sold out! Price $375, one per customer please. LAST FEW, NOW $295!

They are RARE stamps, in any condition, and are not often offered here. Imperial Crown watermark. SG 185, £3,000 = $5400. If this were a 1913, £2 Kangaroo spacefiller in this same grade, cat $6,000 we’d get $1,000 overnight, as again that stamp is missing from near all collections. in a large GB collection. Price $595

GB235) GB 1899 Halfpenny Postal stationery card, uprated by ½d Vermilion QV Jubilee to Dr. David Gill CB FRO, Director Royal Observatory Cape of Good Hope, from The Royal Astronomical Society. Cancelled by London W 29 Duplexes of DE 12 99, and with Observatory Road C.G.H. cds of DE 30 99. A very quick sea journey, which today still takes 16 days! David Gill was one of the most remarkable astronomers in the history of Southern African Astronomy. When Gill took over, the Observatory was outdated. He set out to modernise the facility and when he retired, the Cape Observatory was one of the finest and best equipped observatories in the world. Gill pioneered astro photography and did an incredible amount of work towards establishing photographic catalogues of the Southern Sky. He was also a remarkable person outside of the field of astronomy. On 18 May 1869, at age 26 in a time when photography was still in its experimental stage, Gill took a picture of the Moon. It can safely be said that it was this achievement – the photograph was an excellent one, even by later standards – which drew attention to the young amateur and started him off on the career, which was to bring him international fame, and provide astronomers all over the world with a priceless new research tool.” A very rare survivor, price $295

SA550) South Australia 1886 5/- ‘Long Tom’ MLH with RARE compound perf 10 x 12½! An incredibly rare perf variation, that only a maximum 10 copies could exist ever, and few of those have survived today. We’ve never seen another.
In the stunning Dark Rose Pink shade. The stamp is perforated 12½ x 11½, and an additional line of perf 10 gauge was applied to at least a few units, if not all of the top row 10 of the sheets of 50. A strip of official repair tape was applied horizontally along top row, with the aberrant perforation row. As can be seen in SG, the printer started off perforating this issue in gauge 10, but tearing apart these large stamps with that coarse gauge damaged them easily, so later about this time, reverted to the much finer 12½ x 11½ gauge.
Fresh, bright, well centred MVLH. Looks identical to the example illustrated in Ed William's superb handbook on these issues, on page 24/25, so probably the adjoining stamp, which has same centering, and repaired perf row 10 is in the exact same position.
SG 196ab as a normal stamp. One of the rarities of the series, on a higher face value. Price $595

(The Henry Bull & Co Building was erected on the corner of Market and York Streets in the city in 1904. Beautifully crafted with an Edwardian style facade, it was one of the tallest buildings in Sydney at the time - only the 56 metre Hotel Australia was taller. It was built with 6 storeys to a height of 53 metres to its corner copper cupola - a water turret - which emulated the dome of the Queen Victoria Building across the road. In 1913, during a renovations, it had 4 floors added to take it to the 45m height limit in place.
Like many warehouse buildings of its era, the Henry Bull Building was timber frames with a crafted stone base and brick and stone facework non the upper levels. Twin stone kangaroos stood over the corner entrance. The building was demolished in 1972 to make way for St Martins Tower.
Henry Bull & Co. was incorporated as a limited liability company of 28 Milton Street, London, UK. as Australian merchants and manufacturers of flannels and blankets at the Challenge Mills, Liverpool NSW. The mill was established by Henry Bull & Co on the site of the paper mill of Collingwood Paper Works. It remained operational until 1975. Part of the old Challenge Woollen Mill still exists on Shepherd Street, Liverpool.
