CMJL6) Papua New Guinea 1952 definitives, imprint blocks and blocks of 4. Duplicated range on 8 Hagners. An astounding hoard of IMPRINT blocks of these. These are now near SEVENTY YEARS OLD! Bought from Estate of a Bank Manager who was stationed up there. Clearly he had a TON of spare money, and spare time. Cost of these was a few months wages for a bank teller. Many sets of blocks right up to the high value 2/6d. That is 10/- a block, and was a TON of money back then. And he has many of those blocks and 1/- and 2/- too.Lots are fresh MUH. Some have the inevitable gum ''suntanning'' found on some of this set - mostly the many 6½d blocks on 1 Hagner, which have little value. There is a full SHEET of that one here too! Complete sets of fresh IMPRINT blocks can be assembled from here. Retail would will be very MANY $100s in fresh MUH for certain, but when have you EVER seen these in Quantity? These came from a deceased packet makers stock, who used to supply newsagencies. Appears about 370 packets total here, must be 3000 - 4000 stamps total. Great value at about 40c a packet in today's money, or 4c a stamp, and a whole heap of fun! You really could not even make these packets for this price today for the labour alone, forget the stamps.
